🗳️ Native voters in New Mexico have fought hard for access to the ballot. The 2023 NM Voting Rights Act included the first Native American Voting Rights Act, expanding voting access and protections for tribal communities across the state. Today, the United States Supreme Court is reviewing Section 2 of the federal Voting Rights Act. Section 2 is the part of the law that helps prevent racial discrimination in voting. The Court’s decision could shape how voting rights laws are applied nationwide.
